2007 Committee Chairpersons and Responsibilities
 
•
Audit Committee:  Paul D. Hoppes, CPPB, VCO – Committee reviews the Treasurer's books to determine that all expenditures and deposits were executed properly.

Buyer & Manager of the Year
:  William W. Barker, CPPB, VCO – Committee reviews and selects the recipients of the Buyer of the Year and Manager of the Year Awards. Members are encouraged to nominate fellow members who they believe have performed in an outstanding manner exemplary of the purchasing profession. 
 
•Education:  T. J. Hudson, CPPB, VCO – Committee sponsors classes during the year for its member’s benefit.  The committee tries to offer 2 classes (1 in the spring and 1 in the fall) as well as a review class for those interested in taking the CPPB or the CPPO exam.  The members of this committee set up the classes and handle registration, as well as the logistics of the class.  Only rarely are the committee members required to teach the class.
 
•
•Fall Conference:  Jan Giffin, CPPB, VCO – Committee sponsors the annual fall conference, a one-day educational conference that includes a vendor exposition, classes, & general sessions.
 
•Historian:  JoCarol Mayton, CPPB – The historian compiles the chapters official minutes, newsletter copies and other unique events and creates a historical record of each year.
 
•Membership:  Pearle M. Kennedy, VCA – Committee assists the secretary in keeping the membership data up to date, as well as promoting CAPA membership among various local entities.
 
•Newsletter –  Linda W. Arrington, VCO –  Committee publishes a quarterly newsletter for the members benefit.  Members are encouraged to submit items of general interest to be compiled into a newsletter.
 
•
•Nominating –  Jim Totty, CPPO, C.P.M., VCO and Michael Bacile, CPPO, CPPB, C.P.M., VCO – Committee is responsible for preparing the slate of officers by soliciting members to run for office and receiving nominations from CAPA members in good standing. The committee prepares the official voting ballot and counts the votes during the November professional development meeting. 
 
•
•Sales – Carrie Robinson, CPPB, VCO – Committee obtains items of general interest for the membership with the CAPA logo and sells them to the membership.

 
•Social – M. LaVerne Branch, CPPB – Committee sponsors the chapter’s December social meeting.  The committee also promotes social networking within the chapter by sponsoring other events such as a night at the Diamond, a night out at the theatre, etc. or any other innovative or creative idea for social networking.
 
•
•Website Development – Linda W. Arrington, VCO – Committee is responsible for the organization’s website development and the updates to it.
